Sermons

993445-001It occurs to me that some might consider it an odd (and perhaps presumptuous) thing to devote an entire page to cataloging one’s own sermons.  Let me simply say that I, too, have reservations about this endeavor.  Sermons are highly contextual things—they are always crafted for a particular people in a particular place at a particular time.  And sermons are spoken—they are delivered—not written to be read like a book or an article.

Nonetheless, having dispensed with the obligatory qualifications and caveats, these sermons do reflect a part of my own journey and my attempts to wrestle with Scripture on behalf of the churches I have been a part of.  Perhaps something of value for other people, at other times, and other places can be discovered in them as well.
